My prediction of the babe-o-looza returning in season 2 proves correct as we are again happily assaulted with babes in bathhouses. The whole Valkyrie gang are up to their usual antics at the Tokino Bathhouse until a magical sword in little Val?s hands has her running amuck and next thing you know inebriated alien non-dogs are roaming around taller than Tokyo Tower! Plus in this season we get to meet an all new cute princess. Her name is Chorus and he looks like a short haired homage to Chobits. Cyborg or something else? Find out in this volume! Not everything is as it seems when she arrives and there?s a lot of laugh-out-loud moments.
Episode 4 is a personal favorite as we get a look at a flashback to when the princesses were attending an all girl school. We get to see Valkyrie, Hydra, Chorus, Laine and even cat girl enjoying school romping antics. Laine seems to be in love with Valkyrie and the episode actually seems to be more about Laine and her relationship with wacky cutie Chorus. Don?t panic Val fans; keep your eyes peeled for a couple of near girl on girl moments between Val and Hydra. Plus with previews of a dark and evil Valkyrie appearing in volume two, it?s safe to say Valkyrie the harem comedy is back and the sci-fi hotties are better than ever!
EXTRAS:Extras are plenty. There?s a reversible cover, all new Valkyrie World Notes, clean opening and closing animation, 2 Video Jukeboxes which are two character songs done in anime music vid fashion, ?Anime Encounters? which spots and explains all the references to other anime in the show, and text comments from the Japanese voice cast. The comments even include profiles which are pretty impressive. The Japanese cast of Valkyrie also did voices in Sailor Moon S (Haruka), Neon Genesis Evangelion, Detective Academy Q, and Mobile Suite Gundam Seed (just to name a few).
IN SUMMARY:In the second season of Valkyrie, the harem fest of hotties is back and there are new sci-fi babes to get the laughs and the fan service rolling out fierce and babe-furious! Warning: Hottie harem sci-fi comedic frolics contained herein!
