"...Gilgamesh will throw you into another loop by employing more psychological elements and twists up to the very end."
REVIEW:
Subjected to a succession of examinations, Tatsuya's secret is divulged to him by Kazmatsuri: he is in fact a clone of Dr. Maduka. Shocked with what he has just learned and feeling intentionally deceived by the Countess about his past, Tatsuya flees from her to seek alleviation from Kyoko, but only to learn that his sister has generously given refuge to a Gilgamesh. Knowing that Kyoko is providing sanctuary to the adversary, Kazmatsuri treacherously attacks the place with his Blattaria. In the end, Kyoko is forced to return to the Hotel Providence.
After the battle, Isamu, Fuku and Toru opt to visit Kazmatsuri to inquire about what the Countess has always evaded answering; who are they, what is ORGA, and why do they have the skill to employ Dyanmis? After discovering who - or what - they are, the children are at a loss.
At the conclusion, the Blattaria strike the Hotel, but this time their target isn't the children but Kyoko. In an instant, Kyoko manages to successfully protect herself and her brother, and get rid of the Blattaria by using her own Dynamis.
This is the fifth volume of this dark science fiction anime, and it only includes three episodes, but many of the mysteries relating to the children finally surface, giving the story much more meaning and potential for future conflict. The reason why the siblings were in debt and fleeing at the start of the series is finally answered in this volume as well.
Septem, a beautiful Gilgamesh, is introduced in this volume. She is more of a worthy adversary against the Blattaria, and she is the one who tries to draw Novem away from Kyoko.
EXTRAS:.
?Anime Network Presents: Going, Going, Goth? is the mid-way celebration of the series when it was screened at the Alamo Drafthouse in Houston, TX in 2005, and dubbed ?A Black Carpet Screening of Gilgamesh?. This extra includes interviews with the voice actors that attended the celebration.
Revelations: A Gorgeous Puzzle is a continuation of Gilgamesh: A Buried Masterpiece from the previous volume, which is narrated by the series? voice actors.
And of course, the usual clean and closing Animation, production and character art gallery and a glossary of terms round out the Extras in this disc.
IN SUMMARY:Just when you think the series is prepping for a gigantic climax, Gilgamesh will throw you into another loop by employing more psychological elements and twists up to the very end. With only a few more episodes left, the question ?Whose side are you on?? will ultimately be answered - and I can't wait to see what will occur.
