"...a sordid, pulpy, darkly comic and action packed affair that brings a new energy to the samurai genre."

"This is the best new anime I have seen..."

The only bad thing about this disc is that you're going to want more when its over! This is the best new anime I have seen other than 'Elfen Lied.' This is so much better in my opinion than 'Peacemaker' or 'Samurai Champloo.' This is a dark, gritty story with one of the coolest main characters, wicked designs and an awesome score. The opening credit sequence is killer (so is the song by the Japanese rock band 'ZZ')and if you're a gore fan you're most definitely going to love it. The action is slick and at times quite brutal. Both the Japanese audio and the english dubs are well done. Although the English dub has a great deal of rough language. But I dug it. Gives the show an intense feel rarely found in most new anime. I just wish that there were more episodes on the disc and that it was going to be a longer series. It looks like its only going to have 13 episodes total. In a way the show is like 'Rurouni Kenshin' by way of Raymond Chandler. It's a sordid, pulpy, darkly comic and action packed affair that brings a new energy to the samurai genre. I'm hooked and desperately awaiting the release of Vol. 2!
