FEBRUARY 28 IS FUCCON TIME!
HOUSTON, January 9, 2005?ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime in North America, is pleased to announce three exciting new titles set to hit the streets on February 28, 2006! Leading the pack is the first full-length disc of The Fuccons, along with the fifth volume of Gilgamesh and the second installment of Misaki Chronicles.
THE FUCCONS: OH MIKEY!
The First Full-Length Disc Is Finally Here!
ADV Films is proud to present the first of three full-length DVD of Japan?s #1 dysfunctional mannequin family comedy series. The Fuccons: Oh Mikey! will be available in finer home media retail outlets everywhere February 28.
The Fuccons is nothing short of a full-blown pop culture phenomenon in Japan, where it?s not only taken over TV but inspired scads of licensed products ? and even its own themed restaurants! The series has already been licensed to a number of markets in Asia and Europe. Now it?s America?s turn!
The allure of The Fuccons is hard to describe. It?s a series of short films about an American family that?s been transplanted to Japan. The fact that mom, dad, and son are 50?s-era mannequins only begins to describe The Fuccons? overall weirdness. ?It's like what Leave It To Beaver must look like to guys who drop a whole lot of acid before they watch it? (Film Threat). The Fuccons is something you have to see to believe, but you can start getting the flavor of the show right now at the site www.fuccons.com, or by checking out the special low-priced introductory disc Meet the Fuccons (SRP $5.98), on sale now.
The Fuccons originally began as a segment on the Japanese variety show Vermillion Pleasure Night, where it became such a hit that it was spun off into its own TV program (known there as ?Oh Mikey!?). At about three minutes an episode, it runs as an interstitial or ?bumper? between other programs. The short program has since become one of the biggest phenomena on Japanese TV!
Synopsis: The cult hit series that replaces flesh and blood actors with mannequins is already a
huge hit around the world. Now, the most dysfunctional family unit to ever escape from a plastic factory is returning to their ?native? soil in a special edition lovingly crafted by the original creators. THEY?RE WEIRD! THEY?RE WACKY! THEY?RE FUCCON CRAZY! And once they?re in your DVD player, they?ll refuse to leave! Take a stiff one America, and relish the insanity that is The Fuccons!
The Fuccons: Oh Mikey! (SRP $19.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including 17 episodes presented in both English and Japanese with English subtitles.

GILGAMESH: AS TRUTH BREAKS LIKE GLASS
?Dark, Gorgeous, Mysterious, Eerie, Suspenseful? ? Anime News Network
ADV continues to redefine anime February 28 with Gilgamesh: As Truth Breaks Like Glass, the fifth volume in the innovative DVD series with a cool Goth edge. ?Dark, cool and fast paced? Gilgamesh is one of our favorite contemporary anime series on the market? (Cinegeek.com).
Gilgamesh is the sci-fi masterpiece from Shotaro Ishinomori (Cyborg 009, Kamen Rider). Ishinomori has created a dark, post-apocalyptic world where the sky has been turned into a psychedelic mirror, and civilization is only a shadow of its former self. Where beautiful assassins transform into terrifying winged creatures. Where children are born with amazing powers. And where a brother and sister are hunted by organizations with shadowy agendas. Gorgeous animation, breakthrough character designs, and stunning visuals make this suspenseful, addictive tale of mystery, magic, and espionage the first gothic masterpiece of the new millennium!
Synopsis: As Mitleid?s ruthless corporate raider examines ?every inch? of Tatsuya?s body, he has a soul-shaking revelation. Of even more consequence, this truth has an equally powerful impact on his fellow psychics in Orga, who decide to slip behind the Countess? back for their own secret meeting with the widow?s enemy to find out what he knows about them. Meanwhile, Tatsuya?s sister gets a surprise visitor as well when Septem, a beautiful (and jealous) new Gilgamesh, seeks to lure Novem from Kiyoko?and out of her bed. But even if Septem succeeds in spiriting Novem away, Kiyoko is not exactly alone. For she reveals a surprising, shockingly powerful new ally who will vex the plans of the Countess and her suit-clad, power-mad foe, shattering every one, every thing, and every side in this dark, deceptive war.
Gilgamesh: As Truth Breaks Like Glass (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only anamorphic release including episodes 18-20, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Video extras include ?Revelations: A Gorgeous Puzzle,? the interview segment ?Going, Going, Goth,? production sketches, and a glossary of terms, plus clean opening animation, clean closing animation, and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.

MISAKI CHRONICLES: REVELATIONS
?A Great Looking, Nerve Wracking, Uber Fan Service, Science Fiction Anime That Just Plain Rocks.? ? DVDVisionJapan.com
ADV Films is pleased to announce the second volume in the follow up series to Divergence Eve. Misaki Chronicles: Revelations will be available everywhere anime is sold February 28.

A dark tale enlivened by a shocking mystery, which will have you guessing until the final fade out. Featuring deliciously ripe character designs by fan-favorite Toshinari Yamashita (Burn Up W), Misaki Chronicles is an addictive sci-fi series in the modern mold.
Synopsis: A glimpse into her father?s past triggers something in Misaki, sending shockwaves through time and space. Behind the temporal barrier, the Earth suddenly phases out as Watcher?s Nest phases in! The time: shortly before the exodus. The remaining Seraphim pilots are called to investigate, which flings Suzanna head-on into a jarring encounter with reality. But her shock is only a tremor compared to the shock everyone gets upon the return of someone else: the shadowy Lieutenant Commander LeBlanc. With the Ghoul poised to invade, the ladies of Seraphim must decide whether to bend to his hidden agenda and form a makeshift alliance that may seal their fate!
