In terms of production - As well as producing the English-language version of Aura Battler Dunbine Carl Macek (Robotech) is directing the voice actors and currently scripting all of the episodes as well as acting as ""story editor"". As producer Macek sits in on the actual re-mix - something most of the other producers at ADV do not do.

Some of the proper names and were ""anglicized"" for ease of pronunciation. -Research on ancient British Isles folklore was used to bring certain aspects of ""fairy"" mythology in the storytelling into focus. The new pronunciations were based on ""R/L"" replacement.

?From my point of view this is one of the most difficult ADR projects I have ever been involved with? said Macek. ?The character design and the level of ?acting? performed by the animators combined with the complex concepts dealt with in the dialogue make this a very tough project to transliterate. Besides the obvious attention to detail in the mecha (as the series progresses) the characters are rich and their relationships compelling.

?However the results are quite promising. The overwhelming feeling from this series is one of pure epic ?high adventure.?

?Aura Battler Dunbine is a unique genre hybrid which combines hard science fiction concepts with pure fantasy storytelling - think Independence Day melded with Lord of the Rings.?
