ADV Otakon Announcements
Otakon 2002 at the Baltimore Convention Center is rocking and rolling with news from all the major anime companies this weekend; and of course ADV Films is right in the middle of things with our own hot breaking news. The ADV panel has just concluded as of this posting; so for the benefit of those not fortunate enough to attend let?s take a look at what went down shall we?
Perhaps the biggest announcement of the panel was the acquisition of the first two seasons of the international hit series
Sailor Moon in the uncut form featuring the Japanese language with English-subtitles. This is something
Sailor Moon fans have been dreaming of for a very long time and now it?s finally on the way. Each season will be packaged in their own spectacular box sets. And we?re happy to report production on the first season of episodes is already under way.
Another new pick up for ADV is
Orphen: The Revenge the second season of the hit series
Orphen. If you liked the first season (still available on VHS and DVD from ADV Films) you?ll love following the further adventures of young sorcerer Orphen and his friends.
Saint Seiya is based on the
Shonen Jump manga by Masami Kurumada and is one of Japan?s most successful anime series ever. Follow the adventures of the heroic Bronze Saints warriors equipped with magical armor as they do battle with the evil Black Saints.
Saint Seiya features intricate plots rooted in classic mythology and magical character designs to create a rewarding anime experience.
ADV also spoke publicly for the first time about Makoto Shinkai?s
The Voices of a Distant Star which was announced for the first time Thursday afternoon. For more information about this tremendous anime check out our
Press Release section. And don?t forget next Saturday August 3rd
Voices makes its North American debut at the
San Diego Comic-con International during our special panel (4:00 ? 5:00 p.m. Room 16AB) featuring Makoto Shinkai himself.
Finally if you thought the
Premium Evangelion Paul Champagne Perfect Collection was gorgeous wait till you feast your eyes on the newly announced
Premium Paul Champagne Perfect Collection we?ve got on the way for
Gasaraki. It?s going to knock your socks off.
