HOUSTON November 7 2002?The top-rated syndicated science fiction series Gene Roddenberry?s Andromeda last weekend received two of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television?s Gemini Awards. These annual awards analogous to the U.S. Academy of Television Arts & Sciences? Emmy? awards celebrate excellence in Canadian English-language television.

Gene Roddenberry?s Andromeda received two Gemini honors:
? Gordon Michael Woolvett (?Harper?) was named Hottest Star in a competition that attracted more than 130000 on-line votes.
? Francesca von Zimmermann and Ryan Nicholson received the Gemini for Best Achievement in Make-Up in recognition for their work on the episode ?Ouroboros.?

Gene Roddenberry?s Andromeda is based on writings of the legendary writer and producer Gene Roddenberry creator of the enormously successful Star Trek series franchise. The series is produced by Andromeda Productions Ltd. in association with Tribune Entertainment Company and Fireworks Entertainment Inc. and is distributed on home video by ADV Films.
