FOURTH VOLUME OF SMASH HIT NO-HOLDS-BARRED COMEDY SERIES HEADED FOR STORE SHELVES

HOUSTON October 24 2002
- ADV Films has set a street date of January 14 2003 for Excel Saga: Doing Whatever it Takes! the fourth volume of the popular and outrageously bizarre anime satire.

The one-of-a-kind Excel Saga is best described as the ultimate parody of anime. From the opening credits-a hilarious spoof of Japanese pop videos-to the ending song featuring Menchi the dog singing/barking a plaintive ballad while a human interpreter translates for viewers nothing is sacred in the world of Excel Saga.

The Story:
Yes the producers of the most demented anime ever produced are getting desperate so in order to keep up the ratings Excel and Hyatt find themselves facing new Highly Merchandisable Characters gimmick episodes and even SEXUAL JEOPARDY (I?ll take ?lesbian android overtures for $100 Alex!?) It?s all in the service of Ilpalazzo and ACROSS as our favorite set of social misfits once again plunges into the breach as the plot sickens? er thickens? in the fourth incredibly bizarre volume of Excel Saga!

Excel Saga: Doing Whatever it Takes! ($29.98 SRP) collects four complete episodes of the highly popular comedy series in English as well as the Japanese-language version with English subtitles. DVD extras include A.D. Vid-notes? (a great Pop-Up Video-style feature that gives behind-the-scenes info and explains some of the cultural references the series presents) Open Credits Timing Sequence; Open Credits First Cut; Puni Puni Poemi OVA Preview; Puni Puni Poemi Interview with Yumiko Kobayashi; Production Sketches; and ADV Previews.
