Gundam Dunbine Creator to Lecture in Houston this Saturday
Houston-area anime fans are in for a real treat this weekend. The legendary Mr. Yoshiyuki Tomino director and creator of
Aura Battler Dunbine and
Gundam will be giving a lecture Saturday at the University of Houston Hilton:
The Consulate-General of Japan at Houston is pleased to announce the visit of world-renowned anime director Mr. Yoshiyuki Tomino to Houston for a lecture on Saturday February 28th from 1:00pm in the Waldorf-Astoria Ballroom at the University of Houston Hilton (click here to see map).
This event is free of charge and open to the public.
According to anime expert and UT professor Susan Napier Mr. Tomino is one of the most important directors in Japanese animation today. He is credited as the principle creator of Gundam a series that led to numerous sequels including ten movies nine television series and four video series in addition to countless novels comics and video games. The popularity of the Gundam series can be compared to the popularity of Star Trek in the United States.
